Cow Close Caravan and Camping is a small, tranquil, family-run site in the Yorkshire Dales catering for caravans, motorhomes and tents.
Situated in spectacular Wensleydale, just off a small country lane and with beautiful views, we offer spacious pitches and modern, high quality amenities which frequently receive compliments for their cleanliness! We aim to meet the needs of all our visitors, whether you just want to stay on site and relax or visit Leyburn and the Yorkshire Dales beyond.
Our prices are fixed throughout the year with no extras for Bank Holiday visits! We offer BBQ hire and have a small library of DVD's and books.
Dogs are welcome.
Lovely quiet site, good facilities! Hot showers! Nice location off main road out of Leyburn, about 15 minutes walk back into town. Pitches well spaced out. Was greeted by owner on arrival which was nice. Will visit again.

Spent a week at Cow close and really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The site was immaculate and well positioned for touring around.

Cow Close is within walking distance of the thriving market town of Leyburn, the Gateway to the Dales, which boasts an amazing range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
There are many annual attractions for visitors such as the Wensleydale Agricultural Show, Swaledale Festival and the Middleham Stables Open Day. More about local events..
There is plenty to see and do for everyone including walks of varying lengths and terrain, from a stroll along Leyburn Shawl to Castle Bolton, or a walk over moorland to Penhill to take in the amazing views of the Dale. There are opportunities to follow cycle routes ranging from easy to "Tour de Yorkshire" standard.
Visitor Attractions are aplenty in nearby towns and villages; markets, castles, art galleries and waterfalls, Brymor Ice Cream, Forbidden Corner – a must for young and old alike – not to mention the Wensleydale Creamery for the infamous "Wallace and Gromit" Wensleydale Cheese.
